12 1/2 years and counting! Twenty-three dollar dog goes to the Arctic Circle (almost), Jackson is a great dog. Jackson (or Jackie, Jack, or Doodle) is an Akita and German Shepard mix from the Humane Society. She has been all over...she has lived in six different states and has toured the US, BC, and Alaska. Jackson has done many great things in her life, most importantly being a very good friend to her 'grandma', Marie Petersen. Jackie was Marie's special 'rest time' friend during chemotherapy and stayed by her side until Mom passed away. Jackson is into conservation first, then recycling, enjoys gardening, and travelling light. She has lived off-grid several times, supports alternative and recycled building materials and power sources. She has never owned any clothing or internal combustion engines. Jackson is a lover but usually beats up other dogs when she first meets them and she dislikes balloons, bears, horses, and sculptures of animals. She is nice to people, cats, little kids and babies.
